A working knowledge of employment law is essential for most union officers and many staff.
One of our most popular courses Employment Law online, is run as three modules which cover the fundamentals of how employment law is made, and the remedies available if not properly applied.
The modules are particularly suitable for newly appointed officers and staff. More experienced officers will find it useful as an update or refresher course.
Each module contains some online work which can be done with some flexibility, and a one-day classroom based session at Congress House.
Each module covers the following:
Module 1: how Employment Law is made
Module 2: applying the law
Module 3: negotiating and influencing
We also offer shorter classroom-based courses. These are either one or two-day courses covering important aspects of union work.
You can find out more and apply here:
- Introduction to Trade Union history
- Project Management course ( including handling budgets)
- Using Company Accounts
