Health and Safety and the Ageing Workforce

Under the Equality Act 2010 it is unlawful for employers to discriminate on the grounds of age in Employment and Training. However, while there are no specific Health & Safety Laws that only apply to older workers, the employer has a general duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of the workforce. This course is an opportunity to consider the key issues for both trade unions and employers of an ageing workforce.
